How to humanize AI text

  1. 1

    Paste your draft

Copy the text from ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or any other AI writer and paste it into the box. Up to 1,000 words per run on the free plan.

  2. 2

    Pick how it should sound

Leave the defaults or choose a mode (Academic, Casual, Professional) and a reading level. The language is detected for you.

  3. 3

Read, copy and make it yours

The new version streams in as it is written. Turn on Show changes to see what moved, copy the result and add your own touches.

Three engines, four modes

Most of the time the defaults are all you need. When you want a lighter or a bolder rewrite, switch the engine.

Light

Fixes the phrases that sound machine-made and keeps almost everything else, including your sentence order. Good for text you mostly wrote yourself.

Standard

Rewrites every sentence in fresh words while keeping your points, facts and paragraph breaks. The default, and free.

Deep

Writes the passage again the way a real person drafts: uneven rhythm, plain words, the odd aside. The biggest change from the original. Included in paid plans.

Modes

  • Standard. Clear and natural for most writing.
  • Academic. Keeps terms, citations and a formal tone for essays and papers.
  • Casual. Relaxed and conversational for blogs, posts and messages.
  • Professional. Polite and direct for emails, reports and proposals.

What makes text sound AI-written

Readers and detectors pick up on the same habits. These are the ones our engine rewrites first.

Sentences of the same length

AI drafts keep a steady, even rhythm. People write a short line, then a long one with a clause tucked inside.

Stock words and phrases

Delve, tapestry, moreover, it is important to note, in today’s fast-paced world. One of them is fine; a paragraph full of them gives the game away.

Signposts everywhere

Firstly, secondly, furthermore, in conclusion. Real writers let most ideas connect on their own.

Lists of three and tidy summaries

Three adjectives in a row, and a closing sentence in every paragraph that repeats what was just said.

Dashes and colons

An em dash in every other sentence and colon-led lists inside paragraphs are strong tells.

Polite filler

I hope this message finds you well. It is worth noting that. Phrases that fill space without saying anything.

The engine reworks these patterns while keeping your meaning. Read the result, add a detail only you know, and the text becomes yours.

What the research says

  • AI phrasing is measurable at scale. A study of more than 15 million PubMed abstracts found an abrupt rise in style words such as “delves” after ChatGPT came out, and estimated that at least 13.5% of 2024 abstracts were processed with AI.

  • Detectors are least fair to people writing in a second language. Stanford researchers ran essays by non-native English speakers through seven detectors and found that

“these detectors consistently misclassify non-native English writing samples as AI-generated, whereas native writing samples are accurately identified”

Source: Liang et al., Patterns, 2023

  • OpenAI withdrew its own AI text classifier less than six months after launch:

“As of July 20, 2023, the AI classifier is no longer available due to its low rate of accuracy.”

Before and after

AI draft

Social media use has been consistently associated with poorer sleep quality among adolescents, with multiple pathways contributing to this relationship. First, prolonged evening screen exposure can delay bedtime by displacing sleep time and increasing cognitive and emotional arousal, making it harder for young people to disengage from online interactions. Second, the blue light emitted by digital devices may suppress melatonin production, thereby disrupting circadian rhythms and delaying sleep onset.

Humanized

Adolescents who use social media more often have repeatedly been found to sleep less well, and there are several routes by which this may happen. One is simple timing: if screens stay on late into the evening, bedtime gets pushed back, sleep is crowded out, and the mental and emotional buzz from online exchanges can make it harder to switch off. Another is light itself. The blue light from phones and other devices may reduce melatonin release, which can unsettle circadian timing and delay the onset of sleep.

Built for writing quality

Your facts stay yours

Every run is checked against the original for meaning. The engine is told to keep each fact, number and name and to add nothing new, so you do not end up with invented statistics or sources.

Citations and links are left alone

APA and MLA citations, URLs, code and any words you list under More options are locked before the rewrite and put back exactly as they were.

No fake typos

Some humanizers sprinkle spelling mistakes and broken grammar into the text to look human. We never do. You get clean sentences you would be happy to sign.

Less AI filler

Words and patterns that give AI text away (delve, moreover, in conclusion, tidy lists of three, a dash in every sentence) are rewritten or removed.

English, Spanish and Portuguese

The engine writes in the language you paste, with its own list of AI phrases for each language. Brazilian Portuguese is the default for Portuguese.

Your text is not kept on the free plan

On the free plan we keep only a word count, to apply the daily limit. Pro and Unlimited keep a 30-day history of your rewrites, which you can turn off or clear at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Is AI Humanizer free?+

Yes. Without an account you can humanize up to 1,000 words per run and 2,000 words a day. A free account raises that to 3,000 words a day. Paid plans start at $4.99 a month (billed yearly) and add the Deep engine, longer runs and more words.

Do I need to sign up?+

No. Paste your text and press Humanize. An account is only needed for more daily words or a paid plan.

Will the result pass AI detectors?+

Often, but no tool can honestly promise it. Detectors disagree with each other and change their models without notice. The Deep engine makes the biggest change from the original. Whatever tool you use, read the result and add your own thoughts and examples, which is what makes writing yours.

Does it change the meaning of my text?+

It should not. The engine keeps your facts, numbers, names and paragraph breaks, locks citations and links, and checks each run against the original. If something reads differently than you intended, use Rewrite again or edit the sentence.

Which languages does it support?+

English, Spanish and Portuguese. The language is detected automatically, and you can set it yourself under More options.

Can I use it for school?+

That depends on your school. Many allow AI help for brainstorming and editing but not for submitting AI-written work as your own. AI Humanizer is a writing tool: use it to improve drafts you are allowed to use, follow your institution’s rules and disclose AI assistance when they ask you to.

How is this different from a paraphrasing tool?+

A paraphraser swaps words and keeps the same structure. A humanizer changes rhythm, sentence shape and word choice the way a person would, and removes phrases typical of AI text, while keeping the meaning.
